What is a trademark? ®
A trademark is a name, symbol, design, color, sound, or any combination of these elements used to identify your products or services and identify their source. A trademark applies to products, and a service mark to services, but the word “trademark” can broadly refer to both. Among other benefits, a trademark:

- Promotes consumer recognition in the marketplace.
- Safeguards your brand against counterfeiting and fraud.
WORD MARKS
Standard characters used to identify the source of products or services. They consist of a word, phrase, letter, or number, or a combination of them.
LOGO MARKS
An image or illustration with stylized words, letters, or numbers, or a combination of them, used to identify the source of products or services.
Images, such as mascots, emblems, or abstract symbols.
A graphic representation of a name with a stylized word, letter, phrase, or number, or a combination of them.
Color Marks
The mark consists of a color (or colors) used to identify the source of products or services.
